Brotherhood Ministry

The Brotherhood provides opportunities for men of the congregation to gather for fellowship, encouragement, and service. Through regular gatherings centered around food and fellowship, as well as ministry activities such as the annual Pine Needle Sale, members strengthen relationships while supporting the mission and ministry of the congregation.
Women of the ELCA

Women of the ELCA provides opportunities for women to gather in faith, fellowship, Bible study, and service. Through support of ministries such as Crossnore School, participation in the annual statewide gathering, the Over 60 Banquet, Mother and Daughter Luncheon, bridal showers, and other fellowship opportunities, women are encouraged to grow in faith and share Christ’s love through service.

Christian Education

Christian education is central to our mission of growing disciples of all ages. Through Sunday School, Summer Sunday School, Confirmation, Vacation Bible School, Bible and Scripture studies, and seasonal faith activities such as Rally Day and Blessing of the Backpacks, we seek to nurture a lifelong relationship with God’s Word. Through thoughtful selection of curriculum and learning opportunities, children, youth, and adults are encouraged to grow in faith and understanding.

Digital Ministry and Communications

Our communications ministry helps share the life and mission of the congregation by keeping members and visitors connected. Through the church website, Facebook, livestream worship, audio/visual support, phone communication, community publicity, and coordination with ministry teams, we help promote opportunities for worship, fellowship, service, and spiritual growth.

We care for one another through prayer, encouragement, and acts of Christian love. Through visits with homebound members, hospital visits, ongoing contact with active and inactive members through cards, calls, and visits, and seasonal expressions of care for those with special concerns, we seek to strengthen the bonds of Christian fellowship and reflect Christ’s servant heart.
Outreach

God’s love is freely given, and we are called to share that love with others. Through outreach ministries such as the Backpack Weekend Food Program, Clothing Closet, Ministry in a Jar, Christmas activities with the Bessemer City Boys and Girls Club, welcome letters for visitors, support for community groups, and the Gaston County Women’s Shelter Kitchen Shower, we seek to welcome our neighbors and share the hope found in Jesus Christ.

We are blessed with facilities and grounds that provide places for worship, fellowship, and ministry. Through faithful care of our church buildings, campus, and historic cemetery, volunteers help maintain a welcoming environment where God’s people gather, serve, and grow in faith. Through ongoing maintenance and care for the campus and cemetery, we honor the gifts God has entrusted to us.

Social Ministry

Following Christ’s example of compassion and service, our social ministries respond to the needs of individuals, families, and the wider community. Through hospital visits and the Love Basket Ministry, monthly meals for those experiencing homelessness through the Salvation Army, support for Crisis Assistance Ministry, food collections, school supply donations, Christmas Shoebox Ministry through Samaritan’s Purse, Thanksgiving meal assistance, Christmas outreach, emergency support, and monthly Love Offerings, we seek to share God’s love with those in need.

Finance Ministry

The Finance Ministry supports the mission of the congregation through the faithful, prudent, and transparent management of the financial resources entrusted to God’s Church. Working to the glory of God, the ministry oversees the congregation’s annual budget and financial planning, administers all endowment funds, and provides oversight of designated and undesignated memorial gifts to ensure they are used in accordance with the wishes of the donors and the mission of the congregation. Through careful financial stewardship and responsible planning, the Finance Ministry helps sustain the ministries of Lutheran Chapel today while preparing for faithful ministry in the years to come.

Worship and Music Ministry

Worship is at the heart of our life together as a congregation. Through faithful proclamation of God’s Word, Holy Communion, prayer, hymns, and music, we gather to praise God and receive His gifts of grace.
Our worship and music ministry supports regular Sunday worship throughout the Christian Church Year through a variety of liturgical settings and musical expressions. Opportunities include participation in choirs of all ages, handbell choir, brass and instrumental ensembles, seasonal worship services, and special services such as Advent and Lent. Volunteers serve as acolytes, crucifers, banner bearers, Bible bearers, torch bearers, lectors, ushers, communion assistants, and presenters. The ministry also provides for the care of worship resources, maintenance of the organ and pianos, coordination of weddings and funerals, and the sharing of Holy Communion with homebound members and those in nursing care.

Youth and Family Ministry

Our youth and family ministries provide opportunities for children, youth, and families to grow in faith, build relationships, and serve together. Through youth gatherings, milestone ministry, Christian camps, mission trips, and intergenerational family events, we encourage young disciples to deepen their relationship with Christ and live out their faith in daily life.
