6th – 12th Grade

Dear Parents and Teen,

I am so excited to welcome you to the Rooted in Christ Youth Ministry program. I also want to take this opportunity to give you some information about Rooted in Christ Ministries and our activities.

Many exciting things lie ahead for you and your teen in the coming years as you travel together down the bumpy road of adolescence. We at LutheranChapel want to assist in anyway we can to nurture the spiritual, emotional, and mental growth of your teen. It is my goal this year to help further develop your teen’s relationship with Christ.

If you have any questions or if I can be of assistance in any way, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Once again, welcome to the Rooted in Christ Youth Ministries. We are happy to have you as a part of our church family.

In His Service,

Amy Carpenter

Please feel free to email Amy at [email protected] if you have any questions!

Overview of Rooted in Christ Ministries

  • What is Rooted in Christ Ministries?

Rooted in Christ is the name of the youth program at Lutheran Chapel Church. It has a look and name that the teens can identify with, get excited about and promote with their friends.

  • Why is it called Rooted in Christ Ministries?

The name “Rooted in Christ Ministries” is based upon the scripture of Colossians 2:7  “Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”  This youth group will meet three Sundays a month from 5-7 p.m. (Schedule included). This group will also have several planned outings and mission trips throughout the school year.

  •  What grade levels are involved in Rooted in Christ Ministries?

The grade levels involved in the youth program are 6th-12th. Once a child has completed the summer after their 5th grade year, they officially become part of the youth program, come to class and become eligible to go to youth group, retreats, trips, etc. This enables our teens to have 7 summers in the youth group & our graduated seniors to have one last summer to go on trips.

  • Where do we meet?

Rooted in Christ Ministries meets in the youth room located in the educational building. It serves as our general meeting space as well as our Sunday school classroom.

  • Is Rooted in Christ Ministries separate from the rest of the congregation?

Rooted in Christ Ministries is simply an identity for the youth program and does not promote a separation of any kind from the rest of the congregation. Rather, the youth are encouraged to get involved in other aspects of church as well as teen activities. An important part of our philosophy is that the teens are vested members and stewards of our congregation and are willing to take an active role in our church.

Rooted in Christ Youth Group Schedule

There will be additional dates added throughout the year to the schedule for outings, mission work, etc.

This summer, we will be participating in an “in town” mission trip. We will be visiting a different local location each day. Breakfast and lunch will be served. This year’s mission trip will be July 13-17, 2020.
