Michael Cromer
Michael Comer, Pastor

Pastor Michael Comer is thankful to serve the people of God at Lutheran Chapel Church! Pastor Comer has served previously at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elloree, South Carolina and Ebenezer Lutheran Church, China Grove, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina and of Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. Pastor Comer has a love for the Holy Scriptures and routinely challenges those with whom he serves: What is the Word of God saying to you? Hearing the Word, how then shall you live? Pastor Comer is married to Ginny, who serves as an English teacher at Highland School for Technology, and together they share the adventures of life with four children, a loveable dog, and a particularly scrappy cat.

Pebbles Cloninger
Rebecca "Pebbles" Cloninger, Director of Youth and Family Ministry

Pebbles is delighted to be spending time with the children, youth, and families as well as everyone else associated with Lutheran Chapel.  Pebbles is a Gaston County native (a couple of her former teachers are members of Lutheran Chapel) and she currently lives in the town of Dallas.  She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has served as a Youth Staffer for the Florida-Bahamas Synod and as the Director of Christian Education at Holy Trinity Lutheran in Gastonia and at Holy Trinity Lutheran in Raleigh (the campus congregation for NC State.)  So, unless NC State and Carolina are playing each other, she will cheer for both.  Pebbles also spent fourteen years working in sales and marketing at Augsburg Fortress, the publishing house of the ELCA.

Roger Myers
Roger Myers, Director of Music

Roger Myers has served as Director of Music for Lutheran Chapel for 29 years. Roger has an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Textile Technology from NC Vocational Textile School, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Mars Hill College and a Bachelor of Music Education from Mars Hill College. Roger has been a teacher with the Gaston County Schools for 23 years and is currently a Math Teacher at East Gaston High School. Roger focuses on the adult choirs, Chancel Choir and Chapel Voices, as well as Ensemble and Recorders. He plays all brass and woodwind instruments as well as guitar, recorders and keyboard. Roger and his wife of almost 30 years, Jeanette, have two adult sons. His favorite anthem is "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded," because without God’s own sacrifice on Good Friday the rest of the story would be pointless.

Jeanette Myers
Jeanette Myers, Director of Music

Jeanette Myers has served as Director of Music for Lutheran Chapel for 25 years. Jeanette has a Bachelor of Music Education from Mars Hill College. Jeanette has been a teacher with the Gaston County Schools for 29 years and is currently the Band Director for Holbrook Middle School. Jeanette focuses on the youth choirs, CREW, Light, and Crossroads, as well as Handbells. She plays the french horn and piano as well as brass, percussion and woodwind instruments for band instruction.

Jeanette and her husband of almost 30 years, Roger, have two adult sons, David, who serves in the United States Coast Guard and Seth, a graduate student in Adult Health Education at NC State University. Her two favorite hymns are "When in Our Music God is Glorified" and "It is Well with my Soul."

Lisa Burch
Lisa Burch, Organist

Lisa Burch has worked with the Music Department at Lutheran Chapel for over 15 years. She currently serves as the organist on the 26 rank pipe organ renovated in 2008. Lisa is a graduate of Gardner Webb University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and currently works as an Accounting, Human Resources and Payroll Administrator for a local Gastonia business. Lisa has played the organ for 30 years and the piano for over 40 years. Lisa and her husband, Chuck, have a daughter that is a Music major at Wingate University. Her favorite hymn is "How Can I Keep From Singing."

Janet McKinney
Janet McKinney, Director of Preschool

Janet McKinney has worked with the preschool at Lutheran Chapel for 10 years. She has served as the Director of the Preschool for 8 years. Prior to joining the staff of Lutheran Chapel Preschool, Janet worked in the medical field. Janet and her husband, Danny, have a daughter that is an Elementary Education major at Gaston College and also works with the preschool program. In her free time, Janet enjoys reading and spending time with the family horses.

Julie Murzinsky
Julie Murzinsky, Nursery Attendant

Julie Murzynski recently joined the staff of Lutheran Chapel as the Nursery Attendant. Julie has a degree in Special Education from Kent State University in Kent, OH. Julie has been a teacher for 5 years and currently teaches at Carr Elementary School in Dallas, NC. She is originally from Ohio but now calls North Carolina home. Julie and her husband, Patrick, were recently married. In her free time, Julie enjoys reading and walking her dog.

Claudia Zibell
Claudia Zibell, Administrative Assistant

Claudia is happy to provide Lutheran Chapel with her service as an Administrative Assistant. She is a resident of Dallas, NC and has been a NC resident since 1984. Claudia and her husband David have been married for 41 years and have three adult children and five grandchildren. Claudia has been an Administrative Assistant in a church environment for over 10 years, and she enjoys reading, sewing and baking.
