There are many opportunities for giving at Lutheran Chapel Church.
Backpack Weekend Food Program
LCC currently provides weekend food to 31 children at two Gaston County Schools. These meals provide food for children who might otherwise go hungry. It costs $282 per year to provide food for one child. Donations of money can be made to sustain the program. Volunteers are also needed to pack and deliver the food to the schools.
Crisis Assistance Ministry
LCC collects food for the pantry at Crisis Assistance Ministry on an ongoing basis. Food may be place in the box in the Sunday School hallway. LCC also has special food collections during the year.
Needy Family Fund
LCC maintains a fund to help families in need on an emergency basis. Donations of money can be made to sustain the fund.
LCC has a love offering each month to help support a different community program. Programs supported through the love offering include The Shelter of Gaston County, Cancer Services and Lutheran Social Services.
LCC maintains a clothing closet to give clothing for those in need on a referral basis from The Shelter of Gaston County and Crisis Assistance Ministry. Additionally LCC holds a “Clothing Free For All” yearly that is open to the community. Currently LCC is only accepting children’s clothing.
